About Reading masters

I offer comprehensive English Language Arts (ELA)  instruction including reading, spelling, and writing.

reading

Comprehensive reading instructions beginning with assessments for students in preschool through high school.  Reading is a hierarchical functioning skill, in order those skills are phonemic awareness (the ability to hear sounds), phonics (the ability to make letter sounds), fluency (reading how you talk) and comprehension (knowing and understanding what you read).  One skill must be mastered before students are able to succeed with the next skill.

For most elementary school students I will utilize the Direct Instruction program Reading Mastery.  I wrote my dissertation on this program.  It consists of three parts, a direct reading lesson, a story, and a worksheet known as a “take-home” or “work book pages” depending on the level.  I will provide all of the materials your student will via email in a PDF.

For students who are not taught using Reading Mastery I will use a combination of materials created by me especially for them, this usually pertains to middle and high school aged students.  Any materials the students need will be emailed in a PDF.

Spelling

Spelling instruction includes a weekly pre-test, lesson, homework and test.  I focus on teaching a combination of sight words and spelling rules and patterns to increase spelling skills.

 Writing

I offer k-12 writing instruction for struggling and reluctant readers.  Skills that we work on in writing instruction, based on needs and age include grammar, sentence structure, parts of speech, paragraph writing, five paragraph writing, narrative writing, informational writing, and creative writing.

Testimonials

Our in-house marketing department just couldn’t get our message across. I was paired up with an awesome team that included multi-national retirees, Wall Street gurus and Fortune 500 experts.

Our ad campaigns were going nowhere and we were losing profitability. The Write Touch writers provided valuable new insights and direction that we’d never considered before. Now our market share has increased significantly and we’re back in the black again.
